Sharing the journey

See that picture behind my blog?  I took it.  I know it's awesome right?  Ok it's not really.  The thing is it's special to me.  It's special because of where it was taken.  It's special because of the memory created there.  It's special because in that moment I was truly happy and content, sharing simple things in life with my hubby.  We'd just completed the hike between the five villages in Cinque Terre in Italy.  If you've never been there - go.  It's spectacular.  It's beautiful.  Life is simple.  The food is fabulous.  The people are wonderful.

Anyway I digress... maybe I shouldn't blog while drinking wine.  The thing is, that picture is special to me because after a fabulous day my husband and I stopped at this wonderful wine bar.  We stopped to have a glass of wine, and ended up, as we inevitably do, talking to the locals and visitors around us.  (My husband loves making new friends when we drink together).  We ended up spending the next few hours there working our way down the wine list, getting progressively happier, and more mellow with the owner as he insisted on joining us for every drink.  I wish I could tell you what we drank that night, but sadly I didn't take any photos of the wine (this blog will make sure I never do that again).  What I do remember is that is was a wonderful afternoon and evening filled with laughter, new friends, and lots of fabulous wine.  This is the only photo I took at the start of the night.  I thought it was a fitting image for the kinds of stories I want to share on this blog.
